Art Therapy

In art therapy (specializing in painting therapy and design therapy) we work with artistic media such as paint, clay, paper, wood, etc. to explore our creativity and find out more about ourselves.

Active steps can promote sensory perception, as well as the perception of inner processes and feelings that are difficult to grasp or express in words. Inner feelings or feelings believed to have been lost, become visible through the artwork and can thus be consciously integrated into everyday life.

Creative work gives us distance from our challenging issues. This is important so that we can experience our self-expression and activate our self-healing powers.

These surprising processes of realization, lead to a new understanding of our difficulties, which often makes an unexpected reorientation possible and enables us to access our own strength, potential and joie de vivre.

Our thoughts create our reality, and positive experiences trigger new patterns of actions and solutions.

The only real enemies of man are his negative thoughts.

How do I work

Humanistic and individual-centered psychology forms the basis of my therapeutic approach and conversation. My work takes place within a non-judgmental and “safe” setting.
It is important for me to be an attentive and empathetic companion who accompanies you on your search and discovery process.

After collecting your concerns, I will create an individual entry point to lead you out of everyday life into peace, into yourself and into a protected space. This is followed by a phase in which creative means and various techniques are used, depending on the therapeutic goal and problem to be addressed.

The painting stimulation is based on relaxation exercises combined with journeys of fantasy, which can be effective for the development of creativity and a range of images.

By looking at the design, the content is expressed as conversation. How was the picture created? What has become visible? Has something familiar or something new emerged? What does the design have to do with my concerns? Integration into everyday life forms the conclusion of this process, and via this process, ways of dealing with the concerns are tested, and new perspectives are encouraged.

To promote stimulation and deepen the process, I always use, with your agreement, various therapeutic methods.

What do you need to bring

No prior technical knowledge or artistic skills are required!

Creativity is experienced through action. You bring the curiosity needed to discover new things about you. It is an encounter with yourself – surprise yourself at the power which your own creativity releases.

I want - I can - I do

Art therapy is a process

Entwicklung in der Kunsttherapie

It is a process that enables you to develop further in various aspects of your life.

Intuitive painting

Participants are encouraged to entrust themselves with the process of painting without having to pursue a goal, and have the willingness to be surprised, and the permission to follow impulses or to make inner images from the unconscious or the imagination “visible”.
What is created is important and helps personal development.

Intuitive painting is not about being able to paint, but about simply doing it. Accepting what comes means being open to “creativity” and allowing yourself to be carried and be present. Let yourself to be led by your feelings, feel the resonance and observe your own thoughts.
Observing your own feelings, fears, doubts and insecurities can provide clues as to which inner voices are at work and how they interact with each other.

Growing painting (sheets of paper are added where needed) and the playful handling of image content and resistance, stimulate the self-awareness process.
It becomes possible to adapt to the demands of life.
